Yarin Romero is a second-year attorney and former Managing Editor of the Law Review of the South Texas College of Law. Ms. Romero has over five years of professional experience and previously served as Executive Administrator for the Klein Soccer Club, a Houston area non-profit. Ms. Romero initially joined the Kerr Wilson team as a law clerk and focuses her practice on insurance defense litigation, general commercial representation and immigration law. Ms. Romero is fluent in Spanish.
Yarin’s conviction to help immigrants developed from her experience as the daughter of Mexican immigrants. Her parents’ ability to naturalize opened a new world of possibilities. Inspired by a community primarily comprised of illegal immigrants, Yarin pursued and obtained her law degree. After completing law school, Yarin worked in an immigration firm specializing in the representation of individuals in a wide range of immigration matters. Ms. Romero has experience before USCIS, the Houston Immigration Courts and in the Civil Courts of Harris County.
While in law school, Ms. Romero worked as a student attorney for the South Texas Advanced Immigration Clinic assisting low-income individuals and served as the managing editor for the South Texas law review. Yarin additionally volunteers with Catholic Charities as a translator for citizenship workshops.
In her spare time, Yarin enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs. She enjoys traveling and keeping active. She and her husband are the youth leaders at a small Hispanic church in Northwest Houston. She is a passionate advocate of Higher Education for the next generation of Hispanic Americans.
