EXPERIENCE
Tom Kerr has been a practicing attorney for more than twenty-five years. Tom began his career in consulting with Andersen Consulting and draws on his unique combination of business and legal experience to provide practical, result driven advice. Tom believes focuses on learning each client’s core business to provide turn-key representation from formation through complex transactions and litigation for small to mid-sized entities. Having tried matters before the courts at every level of jurisdiction in Texas, Tom currently focuses his practice on entities in the software and software services industry.
Tom Kerr is licensed in Texas and admitted to practice before all state courts, the federal courts for the Eastern, Western, and Southern districts of Texas, and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to entering the practice of law, Tom obtained an M.B.A. from the University of Texas and spent several years as a management consultant in the ‘Big 6′ rising to the level of Experienced Manager in the Merger and Integration Practice for Arthur Andersen and Manager of Business Services for Dell Computer Corporation. His diverse experience provides insight to his clients’ business and legal concerns making him a more effective advocate. Tom has handled litigation at every level of the courts in Texas (state and federal) but primarily focuses on representation of corporate entities in commercial matters with an emphasis on the software and software services industry. Aside from the practice of law, Tom is actively involved in his community having served as Vice President of a youth oriented non-profit organization, volunteer coach in youth athletics, Vice President of the Klein Oak Band Association (Klein Oak High School), as an election official and as the former President of the Augusta Pines Homeowners’ Association.
